1. Where should I keep my thermostat in the summertime?
We advice you to keep the thermostat set where you are comfortable. However, Setting the thermostat below 72 can sometimes cause you’re A/C to freeze up.
2. What causes my A/C to freeze up?
- Setting the thermostat too low
- Ductwork problems
- A dirty furnace filter, a dirty furnace blower, a dirty Evaporator, low on refrigerant, too much refrigerant
- If you are having this problem, call us so we can diagnose it and repair it
3. How can I get better performance out of my A/C?
- Keep you thermostat set at one temperature all the time
- Close blinds and drapes to keep the sun out
- Don’t turn the A/C on when you get home from work and expect it to cool your home properly. When a home is hot the A/C will usually lower the temperature 1-2 degrees per hour
- Make sure your filter, evaporator and condenser are clean and free of debris
